About us
What is Nae Ignorance
Nae Ignorance was founded by Josh Howell, a University of Glasgow-trained veterinary surgeon who, six months into his career at a farm animal clinic in Ayrshire, found himself burnt out, disconnected, and increasingly aware of the gaps in his own knowledge of key historical events, philosophy, general knowledge, self help and progression mechanisms.
Rather than accept that reality, he channelled his scientific background, built on peer-reviewed research, evidence-based practice and rigorous critical thinking into something the world needed more of: a media platform built entirely around factual, unbiased, and accessible education and entertainment.
Named as a declaration of intent, Nae Ignorance exists to give people a trusted resource for raw, honest conversations on the topics that matter most: self-improvement, important phiosophies and discipline practices to sport, culture, and literature. This will be delivered through short-form social media content and a planned seasons based podcast of real, unscripted interviews with entrepreneurs, athletes and professionals.
Inspired by the compound effect of knowledge, the principle that learning just one percent more each day makes a person thirty-seven times more informed by year's end. Josh built Nae Ignorance not only to break his own ignorance, but to make that same transformation possible for anyone willing to show up and listen.
With a clear vision of reaching over one million followers across all major platforms within the next couple of years, Nae Ignorance is positioned to become one of the Scotland's and then the UK's most purposeful and principled independent media brands. The platform's long-term future is firmly rooted in podcasting, a format Josh believes is uniquely powerful with each season of eight to ten episodes designed to spark the kind of debate, challenge and collaboration that drives real societal progress.
As the brand grows, Nae Ignorance is open to partnerships and sponsorships with organisations whose values align with its mission: companies that champion ethical practices, workplace equality, diversity and inclusion as well as meaningful mental and emotional health support, those that profit from harm are not. Whether through guest conversations or short form content in the form of reels, our goal is to teach someone something they didn't know yesterday, by utilising unfiltered, undoctored, peer-reviewed information with real-world applications to the people who need it most.
